Do I need unlimited mileage?
No, not necessarily. Unlimited mileage is one of our packages, but we also have other mileage packages which may be more affordable and still meet your travel needs.
Can I rent a vehicle one way from Epic Auto Rental?
Yes. At this time we are now offering certain one-way rental options at an extra charge.
What happens if the vehicle breaks down out of state?
All of our vehicles are late models and are covered under factory warranties, so they can be serviced at any dealership around the country. We also offer 24-hour roadside assistance to assist with vehicle malfunctions.
What is Collision Damage Waiver?
Collision Damage Waiver waives the cost of collision damage except for the deductible. In other words, CDW is our promise not to charge you more than the deductible stated in the rental agreement if you are involved in a collision. As long as you abide by the conditions and do not violate the rental agreement, your responsibility for the collision ends when you pay the deductible.
What if I decline CDW?
You have the right to decline CDW because it is optional, not mandatory. However, if you do not purchase CDW, you are responsible for all collision damage costs up to the full value of the vehicle.
Should I buy CDW if I have insurance coverage for rental cars?
If your insurance policy covers damage to a rental car, you may be adequately protected. However, if you damage our car and your insurance company denies your claim, you would still be responsible to pay us for damages. The advantages in buying CDW would be that you would not have to submit a claim to your insurance company, which is to your benefit because claims usually make car insurance rates skyrocket. CDW is a reasonable alternative that acts as a buffer between you, us and your insurer. When purchasing CDW, you remain liable for the deductible amount shown on the front of the rental agreement.
Can CDW be voided?
Yes. CDW can be voided by intentionally damaging our vehicle or by causing damage while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs or other actions forbidden in the terms and conditions on the reverse side of the rental agreement. Even if you purchase CDW, you can lose the benefits of the purchase if you are in violation of the rental agreement.
Are credit cards another way of covering the risk of damage?
Yes. In order to benefit from a credit card company's promise to cover you for collision damage, you must first contact your credit card company and verify your coverage. Not all credit card companies cover you the same way as an insurance policy would or even cover the same vehicles. If you tell the credit card company exactly what you are renting and for how long, this will enable them to tell you how or if you are covered. Most credit card coverage is secondary coverage. Secondary coverage means they will look to your personal vehicle insurance first for payment and then pay remaining costs. As a result, if credit card coverage is secondary, your primary car insurance rates would increase, whereas these rates would remain unaffected with CDW
